Bridging the Digital Divide Through Refurbished Technology

Cashify

India's rapid shift to online education during the pandemic exposed deep inequalities—with gender and class disparities preventing millions of children from accessing digital learning resources. To address this, Rukmani Trust partnered with Cashify, a leading platform for refurbished electronics, to launch the Digital Daan campaign—an initiative encouraging individuals to donate unused laptops and mobile phones for children in need.

Through Digital Daan:

  • Donated devices were refurbished by Cashify, ensuring they were fully functional.
  • Rukmani Trust distributed these devices to children from marginalized communities, enabling them to continue their education online.
  • Girls, who were often left behind due to lack of technology, gained equal access to digital education, promoting inclusion and gender equality.
  • The initiative contributed to sustainability, giving old electronics a second life while addressing e-waste concerns.

By bridging the digital divide, this collaboration empowered children with the tools they needed to learn, grow, and thrive in a rapidly digitizing world.

At Rukmani Trust, we are proud to work alongside Cashify to make education more inclusive and accessible. Together, we are ensuring that no child is left behind in the digital age.
